Market statistics (prices, rates, depreciation figures) come from our own live listing data, public government sources (NHTSA, FuelEconomy.gov), or named industry sources. We do not publish strong market claims we cannot attribute — where a figure is our own estimate, the article says so.
Every article that quotes time-sensitive market figures is dated and carries a "reviewed" date. Articles whose figures are older than six months automatically display a banner telling you when the numbers were last reviewed, and enter our review queue for re-verification or update.
When we get something wrong, we fix the article and note the correction at the bottom of it. Material errors (a wrong price band, a misstated recall) are corrected as soon as we confirm them. To report an error, use the feedback option on any report page — corrections reports are read by a human.
